History and Timeline for First Community Mortgage, Inc.
In 1988 First Community Bank of Bedford County was established. First Community Bank is the parent company of First Community Mortgage, and has over $250mil in assets. <?xml:namespace prefix = o />
In May 2002, Cambridge Equities LLC was sold to First Community Bank of Bedford County. As the founder of Cambridge Equities, Keith Canter was named President of First Community Mortgage, which became the bank’s retail mortgage division.
Spring 2003, First Community Mortgage ventured outside of Bedford County and opened its first retail lending office in Murfreesboro, TN.
Fall 2003, First Community Mortgage began opening relationships with key investors. Soon thereafter FCM started its first correspondent lending initiatives. At the same time, FCM hired its first DE underwriter and begin fulfilling FHA commitments.
Summer 2004, First Community Mortgage entered the third-party origination sector, and began calling on key mortgage brokers and other small community banks.
Throughout 2005 and 2006, FCM focused on growing its retail and wholesale operations in the middle Tennessee area. Additional loan officers, support staff, and a TPO account executive were added to the team.
In 2008 FCM hired an additional, and very reputable, wholesale Account Executive, Terry Jernigan. As the wholesale mortgage environment was failing, FCM was in the right position to capture more TPO business.
Spring 2009, FCM opened an additional community-minded retail office in Manchester, TN. By this time, FCM had retail offices in Murfreesboro, Shelbyville, and Manchester.
Summer 2009, FCM hired Phil Carlton to the team to help oversee its 30+ person mortgage underwriting and support staff center.
September 2009, FCM hired Andy Voyles and acquired two retail lending offices in Brentwood, TN and Alpharetta, GA. At the same time, FCM is expanding its Murfreesboro corporate office into a larger facility.
October 2009, FCM hired Tony Zikovich as an additional wholesale Account Executive for the Middle, TN wholesale community.
January 2010, FCM moved into their new corporate office location on Robert Rose Drive in Murfreesboro.
The entire FCM staff now exceeds over 100 employees!
